ISLAND is another early fragrance recently reconsidered. It has really held up well over time and seem more impressive in hindsight, considering it was completed fairly early in my journey to becoming a perfumer. Because the original batch from 2012 was so small, there’s no way to offer it even as a limited release except possibly in a 20ml size, but it is still available as samples, while it lasts.

The original ISLAND stars the original green peppercorn essential oil that also featured in SILVER, ASSAM, CERTO, etc - which means the next batch will be significantly reformulated. No worries: it has been replaced already in the original release of Silver and was successfully replaced after the first batch of Assam and will soon have to be replaced in CERTO.

ISLAND has a spicy incense vibe but the island it refers to isn’t tropical, it’s NYC. ISLAND was intended to portray NYC at night, specifically the experience of a cab ride home with lights and bridges zipping past against the night sky.
