Named for the ‘unbreakable’ German code used during WWII and the heroic codebreaking of Alan Turing and his peers, Enigma imagines a futuristic version of the past, classic yet also avant garde. The lasting tanginess makes it fun to wear and the subtlety and naturalism of the suede combined with floral and woody qualities create depth without heaviness. EDT strength because of restrictions on lime oil expressed, ylang and lavender absolute but performs well at this concentration.

Notes include lime, bergamot, citron, pear, ylang ylang, suede leather, cedar, sandalwood, oakmoss, white musks.

Note 4/25: Going to try something a little different, on reopening; the remaining four 100ml bottles from the 2022 batch (original formulation) will be available until they sell out, but all the 50ml bottles will be the newer batch. The difference is fairly subtle but the lavender and lime oils are different, as is the ylang, and the new batch is of course fresher. What this means is that the older is sweeter and rounder at first whereas the newer is drier and less sweet, but excels in the drydown. Impossible to say which is better, but clearly the older stuff has had more time to age and isn’t going to be available again.
Note 3/25: The new batch is really good but still needs time to age. In the meanwhile there are still samples of the original and a few bottles still available in the 100ml size.
